Railfanning at Long Bridge Park / DCNRHS [Informal] August Program

Join fellow DCNRHS members and friends for an in-person, informal evening to train watch and socialize at Long Bridge Park in Arlington VA. The elevated Esplanade next to the tracks at Long Bridge Park is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the evening parade of nearly two dozen VRE and Amtrak trains, plus any CSX freight trains that go by, just south of the Long Bridge over the Potomac River. Bring a picnic if you’d like and a folding chair—and come whenever you can, leave early if you must.
Long Bridge Park is located at 475 Long Bridge Drive in Arlington VA. There is parking at the park (pay station metered up until 5PM, then free after that). The south end of the Esplanade can also be accessed by walking from the Crystal City Metro and VRE stations, about a half-mile, ten-minute walk.
