In de jazzclubs van Brussel vond dit trio muzikanten elkaar in hun gedeelde fascinatie voor improvisatie en Indiase muziek. In het voorbije anderhalf decennium brachten ze twee albums uit als Ragini Trio — waarvan het tweede, Peace The New Jazz (2019), met de Frans-Servische pianovirtuoos Bojan Z en de klassiek-Indiase vocaliste Sawani Mudgal — alvorens elk hun eigen pad te volgen. Met 3 presenteren ze hun – u raadt het nooit – derde album.
De leden van dit triumviraat:
Nathan Daems (saxofoon): componist en multi-instrumentalist, bekend van Black Flower, Echoes of Zoo en talloze internationale samenwerkingen met o.a. Ibrahim Maalouf, The Gaslamp Killer, Theodosii Spassov, ...
Lander Gyselinck (drums): drievoudig MIA-winnaar in de categorie Beste Muzikant, Doctor in de Kunsten en een van de meest vernieuwende drummers van zijn generatie, beweegt moeiteloos tussen jazz, hiphop en elektronica. Met projecten als STUFF., Lander & Adriaan, LABtrio en BeraadGeslagen drukte hij een markante stempel op de Belgische muziekscène.
Marco Bardoscia (contrabas) is naast een gerenommeerde band leader ook één van Italië’s meest gevraagde contrabassisten, bekend om zijn werk met o.a. Paolo Fresu..
Mooi wapenfeit: Lander Gyselinck mag april 2026 gerust als zijn AB-maand beschouwen. Naast zijn (onmisbare) aanwezigheid bij Ragini Trio, presenteert hij tijdens het BRDCST-festival tevens zijn gloednieuwe album Spam vol. 2 met KVR, zijn trio met Dries Laheye en Niels Broos. Tot slot is er de dansvoorstelling Figures of Speech, een creatie met zijn zus Femke Gyselinck.
