The Sugar Mules are a Cleveland-based bluegrass band on a mission to find that sweet spot between tradition and innovation. Fusing high-energy performances with thoughtful songwriting, the "Mules" blend traditional and progressive bluegrass with the raw spirit of Americana, hints of country, and occasional all-out jams. Born out of backyard jams in 2020, the Mules have grown into a premier acoustic act featuring guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, Dobro, and upright bass. With eight singles released and a live show packed with ripping solos and tight harmonies, they continue to build a loyal following across the bluegrass circuit.
Ragged Union's signature bluegrass-and-beyond music has appeared at festivals, concert series and events all across the USA, England, and China, since 2013. Past performances include IBMA Wide Open Bluegrass, John Hartford Memorial Festival, Northwest String Summit, Durango Meltdown, Shrewsbury Folk Festival (England), and the Qingdao International Beer Festival (China), to name a few. 'Outsider songwriting, timeless melodies, and unexpected arrangements make for an impressively exciting live performance that is equally at home at the festival, concert series, or nightclub.
