There are trophies, but the top priority is a fun AF morning. Here's the scoop...
You and a team will row close to a marathon - we are targeting 35,000 meters, with a time cap of 3 hours.
Your team can consist of whoever you want, and as many people as you want. So whether you want to rally a super competitive 6, or pull together a group of 20 who wanna row a little and focus on fun, we support you. You don't need to sign up every individual, so you literally register your team name and primary contact below, and then the day of, anybody can show up. We will have good music blasting and some football on a few tv's.
When: Saturday, November 16, 9am-12pm
Where: CrossFit 8035, 1241 Keosauqua Way, Des Moines
Cost: there is no "team registration fee" - we will charge $20 per person at the door, so everybody on your team can just pay for themselves quickly and easily when they arrive (cash or Venmo) - all who pay will get a stamp/bracelet, and that permits you to row - if you have any spectators in tow, no cost for entry, but they won't get a stamp/bracelet and should not row at any point)
Rules: not a lot of em - show up and warm-up on your own, come and go as you please, be kind to the equipment and people, and only row for one team (we're asking people not to bounce to/from teams)
Suggestions/Misc:
-Bring a chair to lounge in
-Bring a snack/beverage to share (we'll have a bunch of tables out, potluck style - totally optional)
-No dogs - that's not a suggestion
-Kids are welcome but they may NOT play on equipment for liability reasons to please monitor them at all times) - MINORS ARE PERMITTED TO ROW IF THEY ARE PAID FOR, AND THEIR PARENT/GUARDIAN HAS SIGNED A WAIVER ON THEIR BEHALF
-Have some sort of strategy or schedule in place for your team - you can rotate and change rowers at any time and nobody will monitor that, but a plan helps keep things moving
-Feel free to embrace a theme for your team if you'd like - neon colors, red/white/blue, rep your gym, etc.
First group to complete 35,000 meters, wins. We will have a 2nd and 3rd place prize too. We will cap all teams at 3 hours so everybody can carry on with their day!
