About this Event

Join authors Rafael Torrubia and Cameron Johnston for a fantastic evening discussing their latest speculative fiction spectaculars, chaired by Cailean Steed!

Rafael's debut novel, The Shipwright and the Shroudweaver, is a fantasy on a grand scale, blending grand romance with epic action and divine stakes. In a world wracked by a crisis which has killed the gods and stripped the names of their people, where everyone is only known by their profession, two master craftspeople decide to embark on a quest to vanquish the ultimate evil, in an epic adventure of ancient gods, apocalyptic magic, and love that can survive the end of the world.

Cameron's latest book is a science fantasy adventure, as a wheelchair-using veteran of a great magical war seeks to use an experimental weapon gone awry to journey to the moon and demand the gods who live there intercede to stop the war - but can she, and those she has to involve to achieve her goal, bring their heretical plan to fruition?

These two phenomenal fantasies have the trauma of war and the power of faith at their hearts, and Cameron and Rafael will be discussing the ways those intersect, writing epic worlds, and more, in a conversation chaired by Cailean Steed, before signing copies of their books.
