RAF Balderton Research Group will be putting on a display to commemorate two 80th anniversaries of RAF Balderton on Sunday 20th October 2024 at St Giles church hall on Main Street Balderton from 10am to 5pm. Refreshments will be available all day. The event will commemorate the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden, which saw 80 C47s leave the runways of the airfield some with paratroopers, others towing Waco Gliders all bound for Holland, and the 80th anniversary of the arrival of 227 squadron RAF to the airfield. It is possible that there will be a small gathering at the memorial by the main entrance to the airfield in the morning, but that is still to be confirmed.
