Radio Veloso forge a sound that brings to mind a 70’s movie soundtrack set against the modern-day backdrop of their San Francisco home. The instrumental quartet intertwines afro-funk psychedelia, 90’s hip hop and 60’s soul with roots that can be traced back to artists like Money Mark, The Budos Band, and Tommy Guerrero.

The Scalps were formed in Salinas, CA by Reverend Stephan Sams (previously of acid rock band The Redlight District.) After disbanding his prior garage-punk prototype project Oedipus & the Motherfuckers, he met up with Christopher Melville Lyman (of progressive doom band Turn Me on Dead Man), whom he had met while working together on a production of the Rocky Horror Show. After bringing in an old friend Clouds (of avante-garde noise rock band The Microclouds), the power trio was deemed complete; since then, they've recorded an album entitled "SAVAGES", organized events, and become tirelessly involved in uniting and sustaining the music community of Central California.
