About this Event
There is a future where Black people in Minnesota are well.
Genuinely, radically well. Held by institutions built with them in mind, guided by prevention rather than crisis, and rooted in communities that have never stopped believing in their own wholeness.
The Forum has always believed this: the future is not something we wait for, it is something we build. Our Future Is Well is where that work begins. Of our six pillars, health is foundational.
On June 15, 2026, we are convening a gathering at the intersection of health innovation, community intelligence, and Black futurist possibility. At the center of this Forum is a keynote conversation between two women who have given their careers to making that blueprint real. Together, they carry something rare: the vision to see what is possible and the knowledge to build it.
Dr. Blackstock is the founder of Advancing Health Equity and author of the New York Times bestselling book Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine. She has been named to TIME's inaugural TIME100 Health list and is a regular voice on MSNBC, NPR, and PBS on issues of racial health disparities and healthcare access.
Dr. Sederstrom served as the first Chief Equity Officer of Hennepin Healthcare and, as the Forum's Afrofuturist-in-Residence, brings together deep expertise in national trends and research with a grounded understanding of what healthcare looks and feels like here in Minnesota. Together, they offer a rare combination of national prominence, comprehensive expertise, and local knowledge—a signal to attendees, media, healthcare stakeholders, and community leaders alike that this isn't just another conversation about healthcare. It's a gathering where we can name hard truths and lay the groundwork for a radically equitable future in health.
This conversation is grounded in the voices of the people it is for. Informed by insights from The Forum's Get In & Get Care focus groups, Our Future Is Well arrives not as a theory but as a continuation of listening made visible.
