Racky Thomas Blues Band at the WCUW Frontroom
About this Event
The Racky Thomas Blues Band returns to the FrontRoom!
The Racky Thomas Blues Band hails from Boston, Massachusetts but plays the blues as though they came right out of postwar Chicago or the Mississippi delta.
Thomas formed in 1995 and has been performing throughout the northeast to enthusiastic audiences ever since. With energy and passion akin to that of a Southern snake charmer revivalist, they continue to earn rave reviews from critics and music enthusiasts alike.
Thomas draws from a wide range of influences to come up with a musical ‘gumbo’ of blues, gospel, country blues, and boogie, Racky Thomas and his bandmates have been torch-bearers of the blues for nearly three decades and are known for their diverse influences within the blues idiom and jubilant, uplifting live performances.
“....they’re the rare breed who aim to give their vintage sounds a timeless edge.…blues, but full of energy and soul.” Ted Drozdowski
