Make plans now to join us on January 18th for a special matinee concert with the Rackensack Folklore Society of Pulaski County and an appearance by the Arkansas Country Dance Society! It's a fun and informative experience for all ages with old time acoustic mountain and folk music, dancing, storytelling, and comedy!
The Rackensack Folklore Society, Pulaski County have met continuously in Little Rock since 1963, to preserve and perform the old-time music of the Ozarks. Lively dance tunes, upbeat ragtime and melodic waltzes are performed on traditional acoustic instruments. Their songs tell stories of the past, and their toe-tapping music will lift your spirits and take you back to an earlier time. They will be joined by dancers from the Arkansas Country Dance Society, a group of recreational dancers based in North Little Rock, who perform and teach traditional dance with roots in English and North American Culture.
Some of the instruments featured in the concert will be Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica, Fiddle, Mountain Dulcimer, Hammered Dulcimer, Bass Fiddle, Autoharp, and the Appalachian Dancing Doll. Additional instruments seen and heard at monthly Rackensack meetings include Native American Flute, Musical Saw, Ukelele, Bowed Psaltery, and more! *Please Note: children aged 12 and under get in FREE with accompanying adult.

Doors open at 1:00pm, and the concert will begin promptly at 2:00pm. As our events are general admission seating, please be sure to arrive early to secure your seat. Beer, wine, and concessions will be available.
Free Parking: We’re pleased to offer complimentary parking for all attendees. Simply bring your parking ticket from the library parking lot (across from the Main Library on Rock Street) or the parking deck (next to the Main Library on Rock Street) inside the theater, and our friendly box office staff will validate it for you. Validations are for paid ticket holders only.
