Celebrating 50 years of community and advocacy, we now look ahead to the next decade of impact, growth, and lasting change.
About this Event

As we mark our 50th anniversary, we come together to honor our past, celebrate our progress, and chart a bold path forward. This milestone event is a collective opportunity to reflect on our journey, uplift the voices of our community, and strengthen our shared commitment to equity, justice, and reconciliation.

In consultation with community members and our team, we have identified five key priorities that will guide our focus and conversations during this gathering:

  1. Employment and Economic Opportunity – Fostering inclusive workplaces and expanding economic opportunities that empower our community.
  2. Education – Promoting racial equity in education and research to ensure fair access and representation for all.
  3. Communication – Expanding public awareness and reach to amplify our stories and experiences.
  4. Community Engagement and Outreach – Building community capacity, connections, and collective action for lasting change.
  5. Truth and Reconciliation – Strengthening our solidarity and deepening our commitment to truth and reconciliation.

Alongside meaningful dialogue and reflection, the event will feature inspiring speakers and dynamic performances that showcase the creativity, resilience, and leadership of our community.

Together, these priorities reflect both our achievements over the past five decades and our vision for the future. This conference is more than a celebration, it is a call to action, an invitation to collaborate, and a reaffirmation of our shared responsibility to advance equity and justice for generations to come.
