ABOUT THE AUTHORS
is the author of and , a finalist for the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize. Her short stories have appeared in One Story, The Rumpus, Electric Literature, and other publications. A teacher of creative writing at various institutions, most recently Bennington College, Rachel lives in western Massachusetts with her husband and two young children.

Essie started her career as a television executive and filmmaker, and was a producer on the Oscar-shortlisted documentary “Descendant,” which was released by the Obamas’ Higher Ground production company and Netflix in 2022. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Kim is the recipient of the 2022 National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 Award and the winner of a 2017 PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her family.

Her second novel, Sisters of the Halved Heart, is forthcoming from Little Brown in the summer of 2026. In 2018, Roy won the Rick De Marines award for her short story 8C. Her plays have been performed internationally, in the UK and India. She is also a television executive at STARZ where she acquires and develops original scripted series. Roy lives in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
is the author of the short story collection . Her fiction has appeared in Ninth Letter, BOMB, Epiphany, the anthology , and elsewhere. She is the recipient of a 2019 Elizabeth George Foundation grant and holds an MFA in fiction from The New School. She lives in Brooklyn, where she is the managing editor and director of educational programming at and the co-host of the reading series Ditmas Lit.
