MUSICAL JOURNEYS TO RACIAL JUSTICE - Free Event

All are welcome! Please sign up in advance as spots are limited! Event is FREE!

Join us to celebrate the 105th anniversary of Race Amity/Race Unity Day, started by the US Baha’i community in 1921! Eric Dozier leads and local interfaith gospel choirs sing.

Equal parts live performance, lecture, and revival meeting, “Musical Journeys To Racial Justice” is a unique way of experiencing the impact of music on American culture, identity and social progress.

Cultural activist and musician Eric Dozier with support by local Seattle Interfaith Gospel Choirs (Shades of Praise Gospel Choir & Brilliance Interfaith Gospel Choir) will take you on a journey of music and American race relations by performing songs and discussing key musical figures and themes from the Abolitionists, Civil Rights, labor & anti-war movements, as well as other contemporary voices of change both within the US and internationally.

By the end, participants understand what it means to be an active and creative advocate of diversity and unity imbued with a renewed sense of mission and commitment to showing the world what community SOUNDS like.

Reception will follow event.
