Race to the Rock 2026 - Amuse-Bouche

Race to the Rock in 2026 is a solo, unsupported bike ride from Naarm (Melbourne) to Yulara. This the amuse-bouche option which stops a few thousand kilometres early in Ballarat. Enjoy the course as a day-ride and get the train back from Ballarat the same evening or the day after!
This is draft v1 of the 2026 amuse-bouche course. I don't expect it will change much before blast off.
Why not roll out with the full Race to the Rock party and make a day of it?! Kick-off is on Sat 5 Sep 2026 at 6:22am.
Enjoy some five-star cycling infrastructure on the way out to Werribee before a quick sniff of some You Yangs singletrack and a brief tour of the Brisbane Ranges. After that you'll roll along some champagne gravel and climb the mighty Mt Buninyong, home of so many road race battles, before riding the first 20 ish km of the Goldfields trail. The route takes you right to front door of the Ballarat train station.
