Race to Restore

There are over 50 million people trapped in modern day slavery today, and every 1 in 4 of those people are children. Instead of playing, growing and learning they are enslaved to work tirelessly in inhumane conditions.

International Justice Mission has worked for over 27 years to rescue and protect people from violence. IJM and their partners collaborate with local authorities to strengthen justice systems, building communities where all people can expect to be safe and protected.

About the hike:

Our route will begin in the locations of the historic Sutro Estate and the Sutro Baths Resort. Then we will hike the Lands End Trail, which offers stunning views and also follows the route of an historic railroad from downtown San Francisco to the Sutro Baths. Then our path will take us through Lincoln Park. Finally, an optional extension will allow a visit to Mile Rock Beach and the traditional site of a famous labyrinth. The views that we will frequently enjoy on the hike will include those of the ocean, of the Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate Bridge.

We will all hike together this time on a route rated at 3 to 4 (Although there will be an optional extension toward the end of the hike that would turn the hike into a 5 for those who choose to take it.). The hike is 4.5 miles and will take 2.5 to 3 hours. Without the optional extension the hike is predominantly flat or moderately hilly with a small number of short stretches up or down steps.
