Ever wonder how the past has shaped our present? Not sure what systemic racism means? Wanting to connect learning with action for justice?
About this Event

This fall, join an intentional learning community to uncover the impact of racial history in Cincinnati and be inspired to take create a more just future together.

Course Format:

  • This 12-week cohort will cover over 200 years of Cincinnati history with a specific focus on the city's racial history.
  • The cohort format will be hybrid with the Opening and Closing sessions held in-person at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House (2950 Gilbert Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45206).
  • Weekly classes Sept 8-Nov 10 will be conducted on Zoom.

About the Facilitator:

Retired librarian Melanie Moon has worked for the Princeton City School system, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and Brown Mackie College. She holds master’s degrees in Early Childhood Development (UC) and Library Science (UK). Melanie has served preschool students, middle school and college age students and is passionate about sharing information at all grade levels. She has presented the Race and the City Cincinnati 1820-Present project to adults all over the city for many years.
