Rabbie Burns Dinner 2025

The St. Andrew’s Society is greatly looking forward to welcoming members and guests to our traditional Burns Dinner in conjunction with the University Club of Toronto. The event follows the time-honoured format with the Address to a Haggis, the toast to The Immortal Memory and toasts to the Lassies and Laddies.

We are delighted to have David Hunter as our guest speaker. For many years David has chaired the Scottish Studies Foundation and is a great Burns enthusiast. We are also delighted to welcome celebrated film and theatre personality Robert (“R.H”) Thomson for a dramatic presentation of the tale of Tam O’ Shanter.

T ickets

Tickets (inclusive of wine) are $145 for members of the St. Andrew’s Society and the University Club of Toronto and $155 for non-members. Capacity for the Club venue is limited to approx. 115, so avoid disappointment and get your tickets early!

Dress Code

The Burns Dinner is a formal event – black tie or business suits for men -- kilts and tartan encouraged. Those looking to get outfitted in Highland dress should contact William Glen & Son. They have a wide variety of sashes, kilts and other accessories.

Dinner Menu

• Appetizer: Club caesar salad with house cured and smoked bacon
• Haggis, neeps and tatties
• Main Course: Grilled chicken with marinated lemon and Pommery
• Vegetarian option: Beet risotto with Gran Padano
• Dessert: Chocolate raspberry tart
• Coffe/tea

A vegetarian meal can be selected as an option for each guest during the purchase process. Dietary restrictions can also be noted at this time.
