Presenter One: Dr Mark Bailey (a Naval Studies Group Fellow) of the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA)
• What actions did the Australian Government take to direct, coordinate and sustain Australia’s war effort to defend Australia?
• What programs, measures and decisions set the conditions for Australia’s effective defence?
Presentation 2: Campaign Application:
Presenter Two: Dr Tom Lewis OAM
• How did the Australian High Command approach employment of firepower in the defence of the Australian continent and its approaches, after Japan’s entry into the Pacific War in Dec 1941?
• What were the firepower command-and-control arrangements for Australia’s air and coast defence?
Panel Discussion: What lessons for today’s military and political decision-makers can be drawn from Australia’s WW2 challenges in defending the nation and its global support network
