For many, classical music is often perceived as abstract, complex, or distant. To bridge this gap and bring classical music closer to everyday listeners, we conceived a unique and engaging format — Raag, Roop aur Rang.
This concept beautifully connects familiar songs with their classical roots. Each session presents a popular film song, a beloved Rabindrasangeet, or a well-known album track, all based on classical Raags. These are performed by renowned playback singers such as Sadhana Sargam, Javed Ali, and Mahalakshmi Iyer. The performance is followed by a compact Raag demonstration by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, offering both enjoyment and insight.
We are now delighted to reintroduce this celebrated format, in collaboration with Shrutinandan, led by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and his gifted disciples, accompanied by a team of accomplished musicians.
