Quincy400 Lecture Series: A State of Rebellion Part 1: Massachusetts before April 19, 1775
Where and how did the American Revolution actually begin?
On April 19, 2025, Massachusetts will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American war for independence. While these battles were the start of the military phase of what is commonly called the American Revolution, they were, in fact, the direct result of a mostly unknown social, political, and bloodless revolution that took place in Massachusetts from spring 1774 to April 1775.
Join Quincy Historical Society Director Emeritus Ed Fitzgerald and Quincy Public Historian Bob Damon for a program that explores the 'quiet phase' of the start of the American Revolution in Massachusetts and Quincy.
This program is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library. Find out more about their work and how you can get involved
