Instructor - Helena Romanovsky

Helena has been in the apparel manufacturing business for over 40 years. Entering the field as a sample-maker, she worked her way up to designing technical apparel patterns for brands like Susan Bristol, J.Jill, Brass Clothing, Bennet & Co., and Sterlingwear.

Her first class at A2 was sewing, and this year she’s added quilting and patternmaking to the mix. Quilting has been one of her favorite hobbies for years, and she’s excited to share it with others. When she’s not sewing or quilting, Helena also enjoys painting watercolors and gardening.

Class Description

To take this course students should have completed Sewing 101 or be an experienced sewer(someone who can sew a consistent 1/4 or 1/2-inch seam).

This four-week course, with a three-hour class every week, is a perfect introduction to quilting. Students will learn the basic steps of making a quilt and quilting terminology, become comfortable using quilt-cutting tools, and create interesting quilting projects.

Learn all the special tips and tricks that quilters use and the steps to complete the class project.

With fun, hands-on projects, you’ll quickly master the basics of quilt making & discover just how easy it is to let your creativity shine.

This course will give you the confidence and experience to take on any project your heart desires -- whether you’re dreaming of a grand-scale bedspread or envisioning a show-stopping wall hanging. Let’s get stitching!
