Quiet Silence 31 and 16 miler

Join us for our 3rd annual event!!!
An out-and-back on the Glacial Drumlin State Trail, starting at Rotary Park in Lake Mills. Choose from two distances on this Friday evening;
-The 16er turnaround is at the Deerfield Community Park in Deerfield.
-The 31er turns around at the Western terminus of the Drumlin in Cottage Grove.
⚠️Please note that the Glacial Drumlin State Trail is a flat crushed gravel trail. It could be dry and clear or unkept snowy and mashed tators….we’ve experienced both the last two years. It’s December in Wisconsin after all
😜☃️😜.
On this brrr-ish night, it will definitely be a test of not only the body, but that darn brain too. Get that tool belt ready!!!
The 16ers will have partial aid at their turnaround (snacks and drinks) and the 31ers will have full aid at theirs (hot food, snacks, drinks, chairs, heaters..)
A drop bag is allowed at the 16 miler turnaround for all athletes. 31ers hit this twice.
31ers can have crew support them however at their turnaround, but no drop bags are allowed here unless you have a way to get them YOURSELF.
We will shuttle them back from the 16, but can’t for the 31 due to a shortage of volunteers after midnight and the distance between here and the start/finish line.
There is no outside crew/help allowed outside of the aid stations.
Pacers are not allowed for either distance.
Mandatory gear checks will be done (reflective vests and a rear facing red blinking safety light) per rule by the DNR. Then runners will be verbally checked in and out at the turnaround.
Live tracking is not available by us.
The 16 miler has a 4.5 hour cutoff (shy of a 17min/mile pace).
The 31 miler has a 9 hour cutoff (17 min/mile).
💤💤💤”what’s with the name” they ask……Obviously we are not asking for total silence, but do be quiet on set please!
The name is just a gentle way for us to remember to be respectful of the sleeping communities we are traveling through late at night and into the early morning.
Registration opens soon with a limit of 100 total athletes.
Email [email protected] with any questions.
Thanks all!!!
