Quiet Quiet is a homage to the local coastal environment. The images begin with a manual photographic development process; Cyanotype. This procedure, invented in 1842, has been used to combine photographs, locally found objects and hand drawn images. The local environment features in this development process by way of the sun. Exposure to the UV rays of the sun is integral to this method and as this is an organic and unpredictable resource, each outcome is unique. The familiar is rendered unfamiliar by these processes and the end results are images which highlight the mysterious beauty of the overlooked.
