Queering Chinatown Map Launch & Workshop (English)

Since 2022, Queer China UK has been developing the Queering Chinatown community art project, inviting community members to bring their lived experiences into these spaces and reimagine Chinatown through a queer lens.

This newly created map is a collective creation, bringing together the stories, experiences and reflections of our community.

Come explore the map with us, and share your own Chinatown memories in the workshop that follows.

All welcome! 🌈

Facilitators:

Bai is a socially engaged artist and curator. She initiated the Queering Chinatown project, using Chinatown as a lens to explore questions of belonging, the fragility of migrant memories shaped by mobility and displacement, and the power dynamics that shape how places are defined and experienced.
