Join us on March 19 for the opening of the Queerd Zine Bibliotek Pop-Up at Munnen! We will celebrate queer zine culture with an afternoon of browsing, creating, and connecting.
The Queerd Zine Bibliotek collection will be available to browse Munnen's open reading room Wednesdays throughout the spring.
🌸 What you can expect:
🎈 Explore the Queerd Zine Bibliotek collection – an ever-growing archive of queer zines from across the world, amplifying BIPOC, trans, and disabled creators.
🎈Join the drop-in zine making with artist and graphic designer Rasmus Eo Clarke, where you'll learn DIY/DIT (Do It Together) publishing techniques and make your own zine. Language: Swedish or English!
🎈 Enjoy a cup of warm soup while flipping through radical and inspiring queer print history
🌸 What is a zine?
Zines are self-published, low-cost booklets that offer a powerful platform for marginalized voices. They have long been used as tools for activism, storytelling, and community-building outside traditional publishing structures.
🌸 About Queerd Zine Bibliotek
QZB is a Sweden-based library and archive dedicated to independently printed queer publications. It exists to document and preserve queer collective histories and futures, providing space for intersectional voices often left out of mainstream narratives.
🌸 About Rasmus Eo Clarke
Rasmus is a non-binary artist & graphic designer working with zines and DIY publishing to foster queer community care. Their practice explores queer archives, protest typography, and publishing as activism, envisioning alternative futures through print and design.
🌸 This event is free and open to all — come make, read, and share!
🌸 About Munnen
Munnen (the mouth) is a miniature culture house for art, publishing, food, listening and collective making based on Byälvsvägen 18 in Bagarmossen, Stockholm, Sweden. Munnen’s initiators are artists and graphic designers who share a desire to center language and community with feminist, postcolonial, queer ethics as a foundation. We are interested in publishing, graphic design, visual arts, performance and writing/reading as different ways of engaging with the local area of Byälvsvägen. At Munnen we host a growing reading room which focuses on topics such as social organization, ecology, cooking, poetry, choreography, feminism, art, and radical pedagogy.
