About this Event
Join Queer Wheels Cycle Club for their Season Opener!
This ride is the first of the 2026 season! A chance to meet the members and new LGBTQIA+ cyclists, gain confidence and have fun being yourself on the bike.
This year we meet at Terassmus in Erasmus Park. There is a cafe with a toilet availible.
MEET DETAILS:
Meet Location: Terassmus, Erasmuspark (1 Erasmuspark, 1056 LE Amsterdam)
Meet Time: 09:45am
Rollout: 10:00am
End Point: Terassmus
RIDE DETAILS:
- 35km Road Ride (West - GPX shared later)
- Led by a Queer Wheels Ride Leader
- No average pace, we decide on the day
- All levels welcome, open to group riding beginner (please read all details below)
- We go over riding rules before rollout
WHAT TO BRING:
- Helmet (Required)
- Bike in good working order with a recent service/check up (please see what bikes are allowed below)
- Clipped pedals preferred, flat pedals welcome
- Wear clothing suitable for cycling (check weather conditions)
- Small tool kit (incl. inner tube, multitool,small pump etc)
- Snacks (bars or similar)
- Sun cream
- Water (in a sports water bottle)
- Good vibes!
WHAT BIKE CAN I RIDE?:
Please note, this ride is for racefiets only. This includes road/gravel/cyclocorss bikes. Due to group safety we do not allow fixed gear, single speed, recumbants or tricycles. No city bikes permitted.
NEW TO CYCLING AS A SPORT?
We respect everyone's cycling jounery. We ask that you take ownership of your own abilities and skills. You must have some riding experience before joining for your own safety and the safety of the group. No group riding expereince (more than 2 people) is needed.

By signing up to this event you (all riders) accept all and full responsibility for your own safety and wellbeing. You accept that Queer Wheels, or any of its associates, are not responcible for any incidents that happen during the event. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if they are are a danger to themselves or the group. We also reserve the right to refuse ride participation if you do not have the right equiptment or your equiptment is a safety risk. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination at our events. Those not abiding by our community guidelines will be asked to leave and barred from future events.
