About this Event
Join us at Whiskey Girl Tavern on Saturday, October 25 from 4-6:30pm for the next Queer Soup Night Chicago! Queer Chicago chefs will sling delicious soup for sliding scale donations ($5-$20). We'll also have a free queer pool tournament (w/ prize for the winner!) and exclusive SLURPER Queer Soup Night Merch. Come hungry, bring friends, and be in community with your fellow queers!
Free RSVP is required, but donations will be collected day-of upon entry by cash or card.
All proceeds from this QSN will benefit Illinois Coalition for Refugee and Immigrant Rights (). With the Tr*mp Administration criminalizing and scapegoating immigrants, trans folks, and other vulnerable populations for their own political gain, LGBTQ+ Chicagoans must stand in solidarity with our city's immigrant neighbors and community members.
Featured QSN chefs include Chez T+K (Thea Rice and Kaylie Engel) and Hudson Caroline.
Chez T+K is a passion project by Thea Rice (she/her) and Kaylie Engel (she/her). Having met working in an all-day French cafe located in Chicago, IL, the intersection of French cuisine and Midwestern ingredients became the foundation of their culinary pursuits. Since 2022, Chez T+K has hosted seasonal dinner parties, pop-ups at neighborhood restaurants, and catered local Chicago events. Thea and Kaylie are both queer women who have been living in Chicago for a collective 20 years. Professionally, they are both engaged in health care and social work. The two of them share passion for community organizing, the Chicago service industry, and perfecting the art of hosting.
Hudson Caroline (he/him) centers his culinary practice around the importance of sharing meals and community care, and works to create thoughtful dishes highlighting seasonality, queerness, and collective wellbeing. By transforming tables into connective spaces and ingredients into creative expressions, he invites guests to fully engage with the present moment and each other. Hudson currently works with creative culinary studio Txa Txa Club.
This QSN is open to queers + our allies. Allies are encouraged to donate at the higher end of the sliding scale, if possible. Donations will be collected at the event, but RSVPs are required for soup planning purposes. Whiskey Girl Tavern is wheelchair accessible with entry on the street level. We can't wait to see you there!
