About this Event
Join us at Dorothy on Sunday January 19th from 6-8:30PM as we re-kick off Chicago’s chapter of Queer Soup Night! Queer Chicago chefs will sling delicious soup for sliding scale donations ($5-$20) with all proceeds benefiting Brave Space Alliance – a Black & trans led LGBTQ+ Center on the south side of Chicago providing for-us-by-us resources to LGBTQ+ people, with program services focused on health, housing, food, and identity support.
With Trump’s inauguration set for Monday, Jan 20th, we’ll spend the night before in community with one another – gathering strength and resources for an important LGBTQ+ org while enjoying some of Chicago’s best queer culinary talent. Featured QSN Chefs include Zoe Shor and Chez T+K (Thea Rice and Kaylie Engel).
Doors open at 6pm and soup service begins alongside our one hour happy hour until 7pm. Soup service concludes at 8:30pm or while supplies last! We encourage early arrivals. Dorothy continues to be open post-event until last call at 11pm.
Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Ave. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please wait by the black doors on Campbell Ave with our logo in the window and call our staff to assist: 773-770-3799
QSN is open to queers & our allies. Donations will be collected at the event. Allies are encouraged to donate at the higher end of the sliding scale, if possible. We can't wait to see you there!

ABOUT THE CHEFS
Zoe Schor (she/her) is a former chef in Chicago. She and her wife Whitney own Dorothy, a lesbian cocktail lounge, and Villanelle, a queer events space, and are avid pursuers of creating an elevated experience for the queer community.
Chez T+K is a passion project by Thea Rice (she/her) and Kaylie Engel (she/her). Having met working in an all-day French cafe located in Chicago, IL, the intersection of French cuisine and Midwestern ingredients became the foundation of their culinary pursuits. Since 2022, Chez T+K has hosted seasonal dinner parties, pop-ups at neighborhood restaurants, and catered local Chicago events. Thea and Kaylie are both queer women who have been living in Chicago for a collective 20 years. Professionally, they are both engaged in health care and social work. The two of them share passion for community organizing, the Chicago service industry, and perfecting the art of hosting.
