Queer Salon MCR #2 : Show & Tell
About this Event
“A salon is a room where you go to converse and talk about politics, religion, love, art, sex, beauty, wine, roses, and that fabulous girl and her fabulous derierre” - Andre Leon Talley
Queer Salon is a space for queer creatives beyond the club. Inspired by Artists' Salons of the 20th Century, it's a creative space for queers to meet, share, experiment , collaborate, create and connect.
Our second event is a Show and Tell. We're inviting Queer Creatives to come and share:
- an object
- a piece of visual art
- a book or piece of writing
- a photograph
- a piece of music
- a project
- a reference
- something you're making
- something that inspires you
These can be something from your own practice or something that inspires your work.
We're looking to ignite inspiration, build connections, and spark collaborations.
Whether your a visual artist, fashion designer, musician/producer, performer, writer or curator, you're invited to join us and show us your obsessions, unfinished things, and niche interests.
We have access to a projector and sound system so if you want to present something using these just bring it on a USB and we can play/display it in the space.

WHAT IS A SALON
Salons have existed since the 1700s. They were spaces where creatives would share their work with select guests and exchange ideas freely.
Salons offer an intimate space for creatives to connect with each other, present their work, discuss and experiment with ideas, and form meaningful connections in an open and interested circle of friends.
Queers have always been makers of culture:
Queer Art and Queer Thinking has made monumental changes to the world, for the better.
So lets build a space that continues that tradition.
