About this Event
To mark Dublin Pride, we welcome you to join us in person and tune in to a conversation with, Izat El Amoor, a non-diaspora Queer Palestinian, on how to engage with the Queer Palestinian cause in the light of the events and developments of the past few years. The conversation will look at pinkwashing, allyship, environmentalism, mental health, and AI through queer Palestinian perspectives, with guest speaker Izat El Amoor and moderator Uri Horesh.
This wide-ranging discussion will look at queering current 'hot topics' through the lens of Palestine, recognising that Palestinian queerness is a radical site of resistance against the fundamental failings of the "globalised world". By developing a framework for allyship more broadly, the discussion will consider concrete actions that people in Western spaces can take to support queer Palestinians.
This promises to be a fascinating intersectional discussion about the connections between our shared struggles and how to move forward together.
This event will be a live screening of an online discussion between Dr. El Amoor and Dr. Horesh, with time for audience questions.
