SCREAM: Resurrected from the dead, in time for the spooky season, is Queer Movie Classics' annual COSTUME PARTY. And this year we've got a real ghoulish classic.
For the month of October, we're gonna sink our teeth into the 1996 cult classic SCREAM, starring 90s legends Neve Campbell, Drew Barrymore, Courtney Cox and David Arquette!!
Have you ever had a weird prank call that went too far? Well that instance, is putting it lightly: poor Casey Becker and her boyfriend Steve (played by Barrymore and Kevin Patrick Walls) are brutally murdered one night, after receiving an ominous phone call about scary movie trivia, and getting one wrong answer. While their murders are being investigated, Sidney Prescott (played by Campbell) haunted by the gruesome murder of her mother, tries to move on and become intimate with her boyfriend Billy (played by Skeet Ulrich). However, she too becomes another choice for the mysterious caller's twisted game, and her boyfriend is mistakenly accused and is arrested.
Meanwhile, Sidney also is dealing with a persistent news “reporter” Gale Weathers, who is trying to crack this case, is also writing a book about the murder of Sidney’s mother, speculating that her mother had an affair with her murderer the night she died! Gale thinks that Cotton Weary is innocent and tries to pressure Sidney for answers.
Things really take a turn once Billy is released from jail. First the school is closed, and Billy’s friend Stu (played by Matthew Lillard) hosts a party. Then the principal gets stabbed, and more murders take place, with Sidney’s father becoming a suspect, because the calls trace back to his phone!
Can Sidney exoernate her father in time? Will Gale get that exclusive scoop? Who is the Ghostface killer, and could there be more than one?
