Queer Latines: Celebramos nuestro primer añito

Acompáñanos a celebrar nuestro primer aniversario con un picnic comunitario en Vincent Massey Park. Habrá comida, torta y chisme.
About this Event

Hace un año nos juntamos por primera vez en un parque con el sueño de conocer más cuir/queer latines y crear una comunidad. Un año después, queremos celebrar que este espacio sigue vivo y sigue creciendo! 🎂

Únete a nosotres el domingo, 6 de Septiembre en Vincent Massey Park de 3:30 PM a 6:00 PM para disfrutar del sol (si el clima lo permite ☀️), comer rico y pasar la tarde chismeando y conociéndonos.

Esta es una reunión informal de picnic comunitario. Este espacio es creado por latines para latines. Todos los latines y aliados son bienvenides a compartir.

Sobre la comida y las donaciones

Este es un evento gratuito, pero cualquier aporte cuenta:

• Si está en tus posibilidades, puedes hacer un aporte económico (sugerido de $5 a $15 CAD) para ayudarnos a cubrir los insumos. Queremos preparar perritos calientes para todes y llevar un pastel de cumpleaños para compartir. Puedes hacer tu aporte por e-Transfer a [email protected] o llevar efectivo al parque.
• También puedes traer algo para compartir (empanadas, tamales, arepas, pupusas, ensaladas, alfajores, tequeños, buñuelos, etc.) , solo ten en cuenta que solo tendremos acceso a una parrilla; todo tiene que estar listo para comer.
• Trae tu bebida (cualquier tipo de bebida).
• Nadie está obligado a traer comida Y dinero, contribuye con lo que esté a tu alcance.

Sobre la logística y el espacio

• Vincent Massey Park es un espacio público y abierto. El lugar exacto dentro del parque dependerá de las mesas disponibles que encontremos ese día, por lo que enviaremos el punto exacto a las personas que se registren vía correo y a través de nuestra comunidad de WhatsApp.
• Te sugerimos traer tu manta de picnic, silla plegable, juegos o cualquier cosa que necesites para estar a gusto y compartir con otres.
• Siéntete libre de llegar e irte a la hora que quieras dentro del rango de 3:30 PM a 6:00 PM.

Sobre el clima
Sabemos que este año ha sido muy… mojado, ya que es mejor prevenir que lamentar, hemos reservado espacio en un centro comunitario (Kind Space) en downtown Ottawa en caso de que el clima no esté a nuestro favor ese día.

A year ago, we met for the first time in a park with the dream of meeting more queer/cuir Latines and creating a community. One year later, we want to celebrate that this space is still alive and growing! 🎂

Join us on Sunday, September 6th at Vincent Massey Park from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM to enjoy the sun (weather permitting ☀️), eat good food, and spend the afternoon gossiping and getting to know each other.

This is an informal community picnic gathering. The space is created by latines for latines, every Queer latin folk and allies are welcome.

Food and Donations

This is a free event, but any contribution helps:

• If you are able, you can make a financial contribution (suggested $5 to $15 CAD) to help us cover supplies. We want to make hot dogs and bring a birthday cake to share. You can contribute via e-Transfer to [email protected] or bring cash to the park.
• You can also bring something to share (empanadas, tamales, arepas, pupusas, salads, alfajores, tequeños, buñuelos, etc.). Just keep in mind that we will only have access to one grill, so everything should be ready to eat.
• Bring your own drink.
• Nobody is required to bring food AND money. Come in the way that works for you.

Logistics and Location

Vincent Massey Park is an open public space. The exact spot inside the park will depend on the tables available that day, so we will email the exact location to people who register and also send it through the WhatsApp group.

• We suggest bringing a picnic blanket, folding chair, games, or anything else you need to be comfortable and hang out with others.
• Feel free to arrive and leave whenever you want between 3:30 PM and 7:00 PM.

Weather

We know this year has been a very... wet one. Since it is better to be safe than sorry, we have reserved space at a community center (Kind Space) in downtown Ottawa in case the weather isn't on our side that day.
