QUEER is an LGBTQ+ Live music event & club night that platforms indie/alternative/DIY bands from within our community. It then descends into a night of dancing with *FREE ENTRY* into the club after the bands.HUNTING HEARTS:
Are an unapologetically Queer, Trans, Punk-Rock band from Southampton, England.
They are a dark horse of punk force that play anthems built for the lungs of the marginalised and the restless feet of the movement.
They sell their shows with a promise that audiences will “Experience Queer Rebellion” and it is clear from their soaring choruses and blistering riffs that they are ready to “burn the bigots, love the lovers and dance like no one is watching” [Mark Cartwright, The PunkSite.com]
Constantly underestimated but never underwhelming; they’re the Underdog Kids and their time is coming.
Think about every early 2000's punk band you loved in school, then turn the queerness up to 11. That's Hunting Hearts.
EVRIPIDIS AND HIS TRAGEDIES:
Evripidis and His Tragedies is the alter-ego of Evripidis Sabatis. The "Tragedies" are the devastating, confessional, self-sarcastic and often darkly humorous pop songs that draw on his classical piano training, queer sensibility and storytelling skills to examine and ultimately own up to the vicissitudes of life. Evripidis' pop inclinations take us for a bumpy, dancey ride across the fine line between tragedy and joie de vivre.
A musician, writer and visual artist from Athens, Evripidis moved to Barcelona in 2004, started playing the piano and singing on his own in small bars and soon became a permanent fixture in the local underground scene as a performer, dj and independent promoter. With a plethora of local collaborators he released two albums (Evripidis and His Tragedies, A Healthy Dose of Pain), an EP (…And it Was Good While it Lasted Baby!) and music for short films. A third album (Futile Games in Space and Time), recorded between Barcelona, New York and Athens, broadened his sound and brought some international collaborations with artists like Sarah.P and LD Beghtol (The Magnetic Fields). His fourth album (Mia Triti stin Cantina) was prompted by a tragic personal loss and marked a change of pace. It was sung in Greek and featured just a handful of musicians, amongst them fellow Greek artist Nalyssa Green.
BITCH HUNT:
Bitch Hunt are a non-binary alt-rock band from London Bitch Hunt formed in 2017 for First Timers Fest, an annual festival where every band plays its first show. Think the vocals of The Breeders, twisty guitars of Slothrust and the rhythm section of Babes in Toyland. Their sound, characterised by soaring harmonies, witty and emotive lyrics and fuzzy guitars, varies from pop punk to bluesy alt-rock to country.
