Never partner danced before? No sweat! There will be a beginner’s lesson to teach you the basics.
About the Beginner's class:
A welcome session to fusion dancing. We will focus on the basics of partner dancing, finding musical connection, partner communication and consent. With a deep dive into how we ask someone to dance, accepting and declining gracefully and how to get out on a dance floor.

Fusion dance is a partner dance style that combines elements from other dance genres to create a unique, collaborative movement. Anything (safe and considerate) goes. It’s less about "getting the steps right" and more about exploring connections.

This is a queer-centered event. If you are not queer or an *enthusiastic* ally please stay home. We will not tolerate bigotry of any kind. This event is for queers to feel irrevocably confident about being who they are and to feel safe learning how to partner dance.
This event is by Asheville Phoenix Fire, a local LGBT+ nonprofit raising money for queer centered sober events and a community space down the road.
