Please join us for a presentation via video call by the writer, photographer, and journalist J. Lester Feder on his new book Queer Face of War, which examines the reality of the queer community in Ukraine and reminds us of how fundamental the fight is for the rights of human beings.
Lester has a fascinating background in covering queer communities and individuals in areas of conflict around the world. From 2013 to 2020, he was the senior world correspondent covering LGBTQ+ rights for BuzzFeed News, and he has been a senior fellow at the global LGBTQ+ human rights organization Outright International and the Human Rights and Gender Justice Clinic of the City University of New York. His photos and writing have appeared in numerous other outlets including The New York Times, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and Vanity Fair.
