Queer Drink & Draw

Join us this pride month in kicking off the first Queer Drink & Draw night at Brooklyn Brewery! Come sip on Brooklyn's finest craft beer and draw! This will be a free-draw event with some optional drawing warm ups, references and materials to play with! All drawing levels welcome! Bring your friends, a date or come solo! Great place to meet new people!

Admission is FREE with an suggested and optional donation. All profits from donation will go to a trans led organization or trans individual raising funds for gender affirming care, legal or relocation needs (prioritizing BIPOC and disabled trans folks). Each month we will be raising funds for a different organization or individual.

This month's DJ: Vielka

Vielka is a photographer/musical artist from the Dominican Republic/Alabama whose focus is on exploring the interaction between space, bodies, and sound especially as they relate to (queer) Afro/Latine communities. IG / Website

Event Details:

This event is for and centers LGBTQIA+ community however, all are welcome!

Supplies provided: We will have color pencils, paper, blank coasters to decorate and some fun magazines and knick knacks for references. You're also welcome to bring your favorite dry art supplies!

Brooklyn Brewery is ADA accessible and their bathrooms aren't gendered.

About the organizer and instructor:

Jules Cordova (they/them) is a queer and Latine designer, artist, facilitator and educator located in Brooklyn, NY. They have been teaching art & design since 2018 and are passionate about making art education more accessible and less intimidating. They aim to create an environment where art-making and play feel synonymous with each other and participants feel excited/safe to explore, be creative and try new things without being blocked by rules or ideas of what art should look like. In addition to monthly Queer Drink & Draw you can find them teaching Figure Drawing Nights in the East Village at All the Kings Horses.
