About this Event
Assemble is excited to partner with Sally Louise to bring you a night of mending and altering, just in time for Spring!
Bring 1-3 articles of clothing from home that you would like to alter to fit, mend or make over with Sally Louise. We will have open work time with quick demos while you work on your individual projects with an experienced sewer at your side to walk you through it. All sizes welcome, all sewing levels welcome (beginners are encouraged!)
Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks included, as well as access to all our tools and supplies.
About Sally Louise:
Sally Louise Polk is a queer, nonbinary independent fashion and jewelry designer. They are passionate about creating better inclusion in fashion for people of size and trans people, which informs the way they look at patterning, alterations and the industry. They are one of the founders of Sew Inclusive, a fat positive sewing and alterations workshop series held at the Made Institute, an independent fashion school in Philadelphia. They are currently working on expanding the project to Pittsburgh.
About Queer Craft Night:
Queer Craft Night is a safe space for introverts and extroverts alike! It's a time to co-create, collaborate, and celebrate! We run every third Thursday with the goal of building familiarity and solidarity among our crafting community. The only way forward is together. We hope to see you there!
This event centers queer/queer-identifiying community members, and is expressly open to people of all gender identities and sexual orientation.
