About this Event
Hey queer, how are your nerves? Patience running thin? Are you feeling a little frazzled around election time? A lot frazzled? While there's a LOT we cannot control in our nation and world, we can care for ourselves and our loved ones. You're invited to dance, to relax, to get uplifted and re-grounded with beloved community, all supported by a resource that never dries up: the queerly written word.
A beloved staple of the San Francisco community, Queer Bedtime Stories alights for one night in Bushwick and invites you to fertilize your imagination with poetry, memoirs, and history from LGBTQ+ ancestors and contemporary creators.
We're teaming up with the luminescent Obliviana Arcana on this edition of her monthly BUSS IT WIDE Open Mic at VERS! Together we will uncover the richness of our shared history and catch a glimpse of the blossoming future.
You can come just to listen or bring a reading to share! Readings should be 1-8 minutes long, any genre, and be written by an LGBTQ+ author or center on queerness. Original work is more than welcome!
This event runs from 7-9pm (possibly later if good vibes are vibing!)
We're proud to host this pop-up event at , a multi-designer fashion boutique and community hub of local designers who make their own designs & people who find joy in self-expression.
All queer adults are invited to attend. No one will be turned away for lack of funds, and donations are encouraged from those who can afford it.
Accessibility: VERS is wheelchair-accessible, but is hard to navigate when the space fills up. Mask-wearing is optional.
