This event, held at Glasgow Women's Library, will feature a lively conversation between Alex Penland (author) and Suki Hollywood (chair) on the themes and setting of Andrion, Alex's creative process and historic research, as well as readings from the novella. There will be room for questions from audience members, as well as an opportunity to purchase a copy of the novella and get your book signed by the author.
About the book
A tale of steampunk antiquity on the brink of a feminist revolution - Andrion will delight fans of Madeline Miller's The Song of Achilles and Pullman's Dark Materials, with all the focus on family dysfunction of Hades from Supergiant Games and just as much queer content. A coming-of-age, cross-over YA novel that offers a rare space for asexuality and polyamory.
