About this Event

A group for individuals who identify as being queer and who are also neurodivergent to discuss our mental health. The group will be free and in-person at the Local Council of Women located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 18+, no max age limit and no diagnosis required. Coffee/Tea and snacks will be provided.


The group will actually run from 6:15 - 7:15pm every Friday evening for 12 weeks.


Peer support is a safe, confidential, peer-to-peer led support with two facilitators who also identify as being queer and neurodivergent. Every week we will come together as a community to share our experiences and chat about different topics.


Accessibility of the Space:

  • The main entrance into the space includes a ramp
  • Accessible and gender neutral bathrooms


Some Definitions for the Purpose of this Group:

  • Queer -  An umbrella term that can include anyone who identifies as being from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The term has held vast meanings throughout history and has brought forth powerful application in the present.

Neurodivergent - An umbrella term that describes having a brain that works differently than the average “neurotypical” brain. Often including folks with mental illnesses, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other learning & developmental disabilities.
