About this Event
Queer Along the River: LGBTQ+ South London History & Art, Thursday, February 5, 2026, 6:30 PM-8.00PM.
Queer Along the River reclaims and reimagines South London LGBTQ+ heritage from the 18th century on. Through new art by local artists and community groups it highlights diverse, working-class queer histories and challenges Victorian accounts of poverty and crime that served as cultural erasure. Coded maps serve as guideposts, allowing visitors to engage with historical narratives and make their own connections.
Opening night
The exhibition opening invites you to immerse yourself in queer South London history, hear about the exhibition and meet the artists. Free maps and snacks will be available, while they last! You will also have a chance to contribute to the exhibition.
