Get ready to WHINE & TWERK at the QUEEN TINGZ dance workshop!!!

Bringing you two incredible Bay Area Dance instructors Mabinty Kanu and Flexx with Lexx to combine WHINE & TWERK for an immersive dance experience!!!

In honor of Women's History Month, we honor the origin and symbolism of the whine & twerk dance. Both dance traditions originated from the African and Afro-Caribbean communities which believe the rotation of the waist is often seen as a celebration of life, as life comes from the belly. Twerking originated in the bounce music scene of New Orleans and became popular in the Black Party culture in the early 90's & has evolved ever since. It has ties to other West African dances, such as Ivory Coast's Muka.

We are so excited to honor the women and individual who inspired this experience and share it with you all !
