Quartet Fest West runs from June 27 to July 9 and offers an in-depth study of great chamber music literature with the renowned Lafayette String Quartet on the beautiful University of Victoria campus. Concerts with the Lafayette String Quartet, special guests and participants are a highlight of the festival.

Lafayette String Quartet & guests
The LSQ presents a program featuring singer/songwriter and drummer Nicole Mandryk in her new work “Singing Through Generations” co-composed with Leila Lustig. Yariv Aloni joins the quartet for Mendelssohn’s Viola Quintet in B-flat. The program will start with Haydn’s Quartet Op. 77, No. 1 in G Major.

Skyros Quartet
Celebrate the fourth of July with Seattle’s Skyros Quartet with works by Brandan Vance, Felix Mendelssohn, Maddalena Lombardini Sirmen, Pēteris Vasks and, William Grant Still.

Gala Concert
Lafayette String Quartet with guest cellist Beth Root Sandvoss perform an evening of charming and uplifting music including Boccherini’s Cello Quintet in C, Vivaldi’s Concerto for two celli and other gems. The chamber orchestra will be made up of Quartet Fest West participants.

Participants’ Concert
