Quarry's Edge Park Cleanup 2024

Trash is a significant problem in Cabin Creek which is an impaired stream on the north end of Griffin. Trash and debris are washed into the creek from the surrounding land and build up in the park. We will be gathering at Thomaston Mills Park parking area on 594 North 9th Street, Griffin, GA 30223 on April 20, 2024 at 9am to get cleanup materials and equipment. The group will follow the bike trails and access easements to pick up trash in and around the creek. There may be some climbing up and down stream banks and heavy lifting. We will gather at Thomaston Mills Park at 1pm to finish up.

The Griffin Environmental Council will provide trash bags, gloves, grabbers and reflective vests. All volunteers are encouraged to bring a water bottle, hat, bug spray, sun block and protective clothing, including long pants and closed toe waterproof shoes.
