About this Event
Where quantum meets legal reality
Quantum is no longer a future concept, it’s starting to reshape the foundations of how we manage data, risk, ownership and responsibility.
Quantum Meets Law brings together leaders from law, industry and research to explore what this shift actually means in practice.
Across the morning, we’ll unpack the emerging legal challenges and opportunities, including:
- The impact of post-quantum cryptography on data protection, risk and duty of care
- Where existing legal frameworks are falling short, and how regulation, contracts and governance may need to evolve
- How intellectual property and patents are being challenged by rapidly evolving technologies
- What it would take to position Australia as a global hub for quantum-related legal work
In the afternoon, the format shifts into interactive roundtables, where you’ll work through real quantum-law scenarios alongside peers from across legal, government and industry. Together, you’ll:
- Explore issues like post-quantum data protection, contract risk and regulatory response
- Test ideas, challenge assumptions and unpack what’s actually at stake
- Help shape practical legal and policy approaches the sector can use
This is a working session for people who want to understand what’s coming, what it means for their role, and how to respond.
