Learn how to see RNA in real-time!

About this Event

Join us to learn the advanced molecular technique of quantitative PCR (qPCR). This procedure monitors the amount of DNA produced in real-time using fluorescent dyes or probes, and it is the gold standard for the detection of viral infections including COVID-19, forensic testing, pathogen detection, and analysis of gene expression. Together we'll learn how exponential DNA amplification works and how to quantify nucleic acids.

This will be an immersive hands-on class, but it's okay if this is all new to you, no prior experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to learn!

BUGSS wants to be available and accessible to all who are interested, so scholarships are available for all courses. Please reach out to us at [email protected] if a scholarship would help you to be able to attend.
