QUAL is the solo project of William Maybelline of Lebanon Hanover. Qual has been described by Post-Punk.com as William’s “meaner, darker, and nastier persona”. The word qual means agony/torture in Old German. Since Qual’s 2015 debut release Sable, the project has been exploring dark and gloomy soundscapes of minimal synth, old school EBM, industrial electronics recorded on analog equipment
