[QLD] Women's DJ Workshop @ Store DJ Brisbane

Join us this November at your local Store DJ as we team up with Pioneer DJ to host a series of Women’s DJ workshops. It’s the perfect chance for women to come together, share their experiences, and explore all things DJ’ing. Hosted by Cara Murphy (Best DJ at the 2023 Music Victoria Awards), with demonstrations by MzRizk (Best DJ at the 2022 Music Victoria Awards), we’ll cover everything from choosing your gear and finding great music, to refining your technique, building connections, and landing gigs. Bring any questions you have—big or small—because this evening is all about creating a space where everyone feels comfortable to learn and grow, no matter where they are in their DJ journey.

MzRizk will also be showing off Pioneer DJ gear—the industry go-to for most clubs and venues. And for a bit of added excitement, we’ll be giving away two Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4s at each event. These controllers are perfect for beginners, packed with everything needed to master the basics of DJ’ing.

Based in Melbourne, MzRizk is not just a DJ but also an event curator and radio presenter with a deep love for her city’s vibrant cultural and music scene. Her work blends a passion for music with creative innovation and strong community connections. A true force in the local DJ community, she’s shared stages with Australian icons like Remi and Hiatus Kaiyote, and supported international stars like Mos Def, Public Enemy, Jill Scott, Snarky Puppy, John Morales, and many more. She was also named Best DJ at the 2022 Music Victoria Awards, highlighting her influence and talent.

Our amazing MC for the night will be Cara Murphy, a house music DJ with a love for disco house, classic house, and deeper genres like organic and progressive house. With residencies at top Melbourne clubs like OneSixOne and Storyville, Cara knows how to bring people together on the dance floor. She’s also supported local favourites like Mell Hall and Anthony Pappa, and was a part of the Defected Records tour in late 2022. Recently, in 2023, she was celebrated as Best DJ at the Music Victoria Awards, recognising her incredible contributions to the scene.
