"Every Delicacy: Food & Drink on 19th century Vancouver Island"In this exclusive QB Reads Special Presentation, local author Robert Clark shares the findings of his research into the history of local food and drink.
What people ate and drank on Vancouver Island expanded greatly as the population grew in the 19th century. The natural bounty that had long sustained First Nations, the development of local production, and a vast range of imports all contributed to a surprisingly varied food scene.
Join us at the QB Museum on Wednesday, February 18th, at 2 p.m. for this fascinating presentation, which includes some small historical refreshments!

Originally from Manitoba, Robert Clark is a certified French-English translator, writer, and life-long history lover. He as written several published articles on food, arts, and culture, and published his first book in 2024, 'Fiendish Crime: A True Story of Shell Shock and Murder'. He is currently working on his second historical non-fiction book.
