PVTV Fringe Flicks: Cursed Films

Fringe Flicks returns with Cursed Films, a night of weird creatures, dark comedy, bad vibes and beautifully unhinged short films from around the world.

For the first event of Season 4, PVTV brings together a programme of strange, funny and faintly menacing cinema, moving from goblin chaos and demonic encounters to existential dread, collapsing realities and the kind of low-stakes disaster that somehow feels cosmically doomed. The films are surreal, absurd, eerie and just slightly hexed.

Hosted by People Versus TV CIC at DoES Liverpool, Fringe Flicks is a quarterly film night for people who like their cinema strange, playful, inventive and alive.

Fringe Flicks is a welcoming home for underground, experimental and off-kilter short film in Liverpool. We screen carefully curated work from the UK and around the world, with a focus on films that are unusual, distinctive and worth discovering with an audience.

This is not a stiff or formal screening. It’s a communal, low-pressure film night for curious people, filmmakers, artists, and anyone who enjoys cinema that feels a bit stranger than usual.

Expect a low-pressure, communal film night with space to settle in, watch something unusual, and enjoy it with other curious people.

• Doors open from 7:30pm
• Films start at around 7:50pm
• There will be an interval midway through
• The programme finishes at around 10pm
• After the screening, there’s a social for anyone who wants to hang out and chat

There’s also a raffle for fabulous prizes, and you can vote for your favourite film in the Audience Choice Award, sponsored by The DCP Works.
